Founded on the principle that diverse perspectives strengthen philosophical inquiry, League of African Women Philosophers emerged from a recognition that African women's contributions to philosophy have been historically underrepresented and undervalued.
We believe that philosophy thrives when it embraces the full spectrum of human experience, and that African women's unique perspectives—shaped by rich cultural traditions, lived experiences, and intellectual rigor—are essential to the global philosophical conversation.
